All in a *DIY's Work

Salam..and Goodday..

Better Half?

A husband's work is never done. He is electrician, plumber, painter, odd-job man, wireless mechanic, chauffeur, gardener, wood-chopper, carpenter, laborer - and that's before he's even taken his jacket off.

Then there's moving the wardrobe, mending the clock, putting his finger on a granny knot, winding wool, washing a spider down the plug-hole, taking the dog for a walk - but that's just routine labor : it is not until he has already put in a ten-hour day and had his tea that the cerebral activity begins.

In the first place, he is an experienced political adviser. There is not a husband in the land who, after scanning the evening newspaper, is unable to give his family run-down on the likelihood of a nuclear war between France and Belgium. Then he must be a skilled economist. When his wife demands a new dress there has to be someone with the necessary qualifications to tell her that she is not getting one. There are men in the corridors of power earning $30,600 a year for doing less.

Add all these jobs together, put them through the statistical mincing machine, multiply by six and take away the number you first thought of, and you will see that our man is working 200 hours a week - and is worth about $153,000 a year.

Seharian bekerja!
